Our customers are getting creative with how they are using the Eco-Sorter! Customers are getting rid of their countertop compost bins and using the Eco-Sorter to make collecting kitchen compost as easy as throwing out the trash. Some customers are also using the Eco-Sorter as a solution for separating different types of recycling. Here are some ideas that might work for you:
1. Standard Assembly: Trash can divided using the Eco-Sorter with one trash bag and one compostable bag side by side.
2. Compostable bag inside trash bag: One trash bag covering the entire trash can. One 13 gallon compostable bag added inside the trash bag, divided using the Eco-Sorter.
Some customers like this option as once full, just remove the Eco-Sorter and take out the whole trash bag with the compostable bag inside. No worry over the compostable bag breaking if very full and just separate and dump at your outside trash/compost bins or compost pile.
3. Small compostable bag inside trash bag: Same idea as above, only uses a small 3 gallon compostable bag inside the trash bag. Requires use of the can band to hold the bag as it is suspended in the can due to its small size. This option works for light compostable items only as heavy items will cause the bag to fall to the bottom of the trash bag.
4. Recycling Sorting: Divide trash can with the Eco-Sorter using two standard trash bags side by side. Separate paper recycling from cans/bottles. Reuse bags after dumping into outdoor recycling bins.
5. Create a whole trash/compost/recycling center with back to back garbage cans and 2 Eco-Sorters!
